Recently, a delegation from Spain, together with Dr. Florica Zaharia (MET) had undertaken a documentary visit (4 to 22 July 2010), under a program initiated and conducted by the center “Radu Florescu” (CNCDDM). The main aspects of the visit envisaged:
- presentation of the museums, collections and laboratories of restoration (Bucharest, Craiova, Sibiu);
- identification of future common interest projects;
- extension of the experts exchange programme
The Spanish colleagues have discussed with curators, conservators and restorers on the exhibition methods, furniture, lighting system, preservation, storage techniques for restoration and museum pedagogy.
A central point of the visit was the presentation the latest storage and restoration laboratories (‘Muzeul Taranului Roman’, the National Village Museum “Dim. Gusti”, Oltenia Museum, Complexul Muzeal National “Astra”), where the discussions revealed the high quality of the adopted solutions and their practical value.
The possibilities of cooperation between the Spanish, Romanian museums and the MET are to be considered in the following areas:
a.) restoration (icons mainly) at the Institute laboratory of Valencia
b) extensive research programmes on textiles
c) physics -chemistry investigation projects
e) participation in internships on museography, documentation,
restoration and also scientific meetings.
